I'm baffled why people from my brother's high school class keep friending me on the Facebook. I mean, I remember who you are, but really? We've never spoken. That I remember. I last saw you when I was twelve.

Additionally, Facebook asked me this

I don't understand. What choice does facebook have but to ask for each user to specify? Our language doesn't have a neuter singular pronoun that works for people.

That's really stupid of them to ask. "Their" is a completely suitable gender-neutral pronoun (though, for some reason, facebook uses "its" instead? wtf). I'm pretty peeved at facebook recently, too... what's them forcing you to have your mini-feed visible on your profile page all about? Pisses me off... >_>;;;

I have a job now, at the Eureka CO-OP. If you're in the city, you should drop by and maybe see me. I'm a "Courtesy Clerk", which basically means that I bag groceries and do front-end cleanup, along with keeping the bathrooms stocked and stuff. ^^

I would like to see "they" gain an additional meaning as a singular pronoun that refers to a living being without specifying a gender. It's in common use, after all. Perhaps it will find its way into a dictionary at some point in the near future.

On a related note, I once heard someone describing her unusual birth and referring to herself as "it" in the story. She said something like "They had to do a cesarean section because it couldn't fit through the birth canal." Good times.
