It is COLD in the mountains in October. We got back to the campsite and it wasn't TOO wet. We set about starting campfires in the very nice campfire grills. The wood was a bit wet, so we had a lot of smoke. We got it going enough to make some S'mores ( Read more... )

We get up and go to the drugstore downstairs for breakfast. It's not really a drugstore any more, but there is an old fashioned soda fountain where they mix the soft drinks the old fashioned way. They pour in the syrup and then add the fizz and stir it with a spoon. The kids were majorly blown away over that ( Read more... )

I went to a party at the McGahan's last night and it was strange and wonderful. As we walked up, a person in the dark started exclaiming my name and telling his companion that I was a teacher at his school. He seemed astonished that I was invited to the same party that he was.
