the clock is ticking.

That's it: quater-life crisis solved. I'm dumping Mark, dropping out of school, calling out an old lover for a loan, and traveling from one country to another with Pat. We haven't decided where we'll start. We might wait until we both graduate, we'll see.

Let's roll.

wow. this just proves that just because you swing dance with a person once every two weeks or so, you can't expect to know what's actually going on in that person's life.

If you drop out of school, when Portnoy says something like, "humor me: what's rhetoric again?" I won't be able to look to you for a horribly cynical face, and pretty soon I'll be like those robots in class who chant the outline like it's the bible.

i have no idea how serious your email was. i'd recommend finishing school though. don't call me a square.

it's weird. i have more livejournal contact with EVERYBODY ELSE than with you. it's bizarre to see your response. jeff buckley's version of 'hallelujah' is playing. i just wrote you a drunken letter. i miss you more now than i have yet. i love you.

yeah, i think i've decided to stick it out. i'd hate to leave you alone (okay, you and fisher alone) in the face of portnoy's elementary-school enthusiasm.

the feelings behind the post were serious, not so much the plan. although the more i think about it...

YES. the second i run into some stray cash, i am careening your way, dancing shoes in hand. last week i spent an hour sitting on Lonnie the honey man's front porch (the guy on fifth street who sells honey), and found out he was quite the contra dancer in his day. he said, "man, look at those boots! you've either shoveled manure in your lifetime, or you're a helluva dancer!"

and i miss you too, margaret regis! thanks for the votes. and thanks for putting your pictures online--they're beautiful.

haha, the envelope was courtesy of my mother's late obsession with making envelopes out of wrapping paper. i would have found one more suitable to your porsonality, but i wasn't anywhere near her inventory...
