Dogs are amazing creatures. I am thankful for Lucy being there and knowing that something was wrong.

Me three. I would have said two, but then I would have followed it up with "and a half", so it rounds up to three.

Hope the fire drills do some good. On a different, but related note, I don't think I need to go on about the benefits of appropriate amounts of healthy sleep.

Hugs for danger averted. My smoke detector is annoying and paranoid as always, but I like them that way. (You even have to reach up and press not one but two buttons at the same time to get it to stop, and it still occasionally "chirp"s at you. I'm surprised my neighbors don't bother me about it.)

Thanks! I went ahead and got some new smoke/fire/carbon monoxide detectors yesterday....now we will have at least 3 working detectors.

I still have to spring for the child appropriate one for which I can make a recording of my voice...a recent study found that 85% of young school age children would awaken to their mother's voice within one minute--but 90% did not awaken with 3 minutes of a standard high pitched smoke detector. Scary.

Yes! She got extra treats today, and not just because she stole her brother's (one of her annoying habits).

I'm thinking about you--hope your surgery is going/goes/went well.
