So your reader isn't left hanging, .4375 and .9375 (alternatively, 7/16 and 15/16) are the fractions of a 4/4 measure just before (typically) a stronger beat- the perfect places to slip in a grace note.

And for those of us who were taught counting chants to use while playing an instrument, that would be the capitalized "ANDS":

one ee + a, two ee AND a, three ee + a, four ee AND a...
