Indeed. I am particularly doctor-avoidant unless something serious is going on with me - like when it's fucking with my breathing - so I'd be hieing my ass to medical care ASAP. Luckily you did too, and hopefully your antibiotics will kill the bronchitis. Yuck. Hope you feel well soon!
Yeah, and if you listen to your body, that's usually good enough. I'm with you - I'll often suffer rather than put more stuff in my system if I don't need it. Knowing drug companies don't always make stuff without side effects (so that they can treat them with more drugs, dontcha know?) I'm less inclined to medicate.
Sometimes I think my chemical/irritant sensitivity that makes my throat and lungs close up when I get a hint of things is there for an evolutionary reason.
Multiple air filters FTW. (It's about all I can do at work.)
Kind of sobering given that I recently was diagnosed with Bronchitis. I had been debating going to the doctor - I just thought I had a bad cold for some time and viruses can take 2-3 weeks to run their course. It's when it wasn't getting any better that I started thinking seriously about going to a doctor...
It is, rather. I have a friend who's a week shy or 51 facing the end of his life due to COPD and I'm reposting for him. I'm inclined to say that if you haven't seen a doctor that you go get it checked out, just in case.
It was scary as hell when I was dealing with the asthmatic bronchitis -- having to go see the pulmonologist freaked me right out, but I'm glad I did it. I'm now breathing normally again, thankfully!
I bet! Anything preventing clear breathing scares me! I'm glad you did it too, even if it was scary. I still think dying young (hell, dying at all) is pretty scary.
Thanks - it was on request, and it's always good to pass along stuff that makes one aware.

Always good to be aware of what is going on in your body, and get things checked out :)

I'd be inclined to agree - it's a fight or flight response. I know and understand. Simply telling people doesn't always work.
