Hey, I'm Gacktpause. I've been blogging regularly about a.b.s on Wordpress for a while now...I have to admit, I'm not particularly familiar with LJ, but eh! It seems like this is quite the hub, so mind if I join in?

I really enjoyed reading your review. I recently ordered my album and have yet to hear any of the tracks (I like to wait that way when I pop it in my itunes it's fresh). Anyway reading your review makes me feel like, yeah, it is going to be a great album. I really liked your descriptions of the tracks. I was kind of worried I wouldn't like it as much as the first album but this gives me an impression that I will enjoy it. Thanks!

Thanks! I do the same thing. Even though a few previews got out, I resisted listening to any of them so I could get the full experience of the new tracks once the album actually arrived. It was well worth it.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

i usually can't get to the end of reviews (especially most concerning AR) but this i've read and enjoyed and I still think it's in my brain's power to understand what people have against this album. Or to be honest do i want to do so.

People shoould get over the fact that they've heard some songs and just enjoy the album as a whole, since new songs are pretty much full of win.

I love it. Quite a lot and that's not going to change xD

and 1 cover but hey the songs are great ;] !

Yeah, well, the funny thing is, it's not like a.b.s are the first to stick singles on their albums. GACKT (and many others) does it constantly, and nobody's lynched him yet for being cheap with us.
What's really funny is now everyone's saying they're glad all the previously released singles are on AR because they don't like the new songs! Unbelievable...

and new songs are something new for abs D;
they tried some more heavy metal style for some change
another song that reminds Atheca,I love which songs good,another feat with some rapper XDDDDD
and PINEAPPLE ARMY which rocks !

I agree with you about the arrangement being pretty different. The first album was almost more "straight" feeling, and AR is way funkier. "Siren" definitely took a few listen-through-s just to establish a cohesive melody/rhythm (first time you hear it it feels like a bunch of dissonance until you reach the chorus). And then, speaking of random, the lion-roars at the end of "Valkyrie" that repeat several times before the sound of a droplet of water falling into a bucket that shivers out into a deranged cat's meow to finish the song

oh dear....i didn't get the dissonance on Siren (I LOVE THAT SONG)....perhaps i'm used to it, with all the crazy music we listen to in class!!

i've clicked with Shiosai! Took a few listens but i'm really into it now!!
I didn't click with Athena straight away for some reason on the first album, so i wasn't expecting to like Shiosai on first listen
I love both now, I don't know why i ever didn't click with Athena now!!

Revelation any day!! I love progressive music so hearing bits of that thrown into a couple of a.b.s songs is wonderful for me :)
I like varied albums, which is another strength of this album compared to the last one.
