There was a magpie on one of shelves of the store this morning. It was watching the door as it's master sat in the middle of the book section, reading volume after volume since he'd oh so handwavily and with permission arrived late the night prior. Tara wouldn't have been in the shop at all, except she couldn't find her phone and the last time she remembered using it was during her break the day before.

She frowned when she opened the door. She could have sworn she'd locked up....

"Um," She stammered at Loki, and cleared her throat. "We ... aren't actually open?"

Said as if she were apologizing to him.

Barely locked!

The magpie cawed once as an afterthought, earning a glare from Loki. "I haven't stolen anything," he said quickly. As if to avoid blame.

"Right," Tara said, and twitched her hands as if she wasn't quite sure how to answer. The bird got a frown; she wondered if it was a familiar.

"But -- did I forget to lock? I'm usually really good about that. Sorry, I'm not even really here, I have to get to class as soon as I find my phone."
