A fact.

Atheism, and theism are irrational, both; there is no proof in either direction. So if you claim to be a theist or a atheist you are being irrational. This does not mean you cannot have beliefs one way or another, but proclaiming you know is irrational. I have my own beliefs about which is more or less irrational, but I won’t post those here; if ( Read more... )

I am not trying to get down on you or anything i don't mind but be careful when you say that. It might be better to put " I think..." so as not to step to others toes.

I appreciate the warning, but I'm quite fine with stepping on a few toes if it will goad people into discussion.

I am not sure it is fair to call them irrational, since there is such vague evidence pointing to the actual creation of the earth. On the theistic side, you have witness accounts claiming to have seen god perform miracles and been told by him/her or his/her disciples that god created the earth. On the athiestic side you have vague scientific implications. By your logic, the only rational theory about creation would be simply not to have a theory about the creation of the world. I would say that considering the lack of empirical evidence these theories are the most rational ideas for explaining an unknown.

Theories are fine. Claiming fact is illogical and in most or all cases outright wrong. Atheism, theism, gnosticism, and almost all of them other belief systems do in fact, claim fact, and are illogical for doing so. If that didn't make sense or seems wrong, be sure to let me know, I'm rather tired at the moment, the muscle relaxants are taking effect. So I may be more articulate later.

Oh, and by the way, the icon is simply because I wanted to use my Spock icon too!
