That was fascinating. It's funny how a grim, spooky, sad, desolate place is still loved by people as 'home'.

So sad. You can see why Illinoisians are called Flat Landers.
Despite my job troubles at least I have a bunch of jobs to apply for. In a place like Cairo there are no jobs to apply for.

I can't imagine living so cut off from basic services but it's a common story which usually leads in one direction - low life expectancy, substance abuse, suicide etc.
