Although Mr. Bush believes that Americans are not ready to ban all abortions, he is expected to nominate Supreme Court justices in the next four years who might overturn Roe v. Wade...
someone on my friends list just posted a quote from hilary clinton saying she can understand people who think abortion is wrong under any circumstances.
"Yes, we do have deeply held differences of opinion about the issue of abortion and I, for one, respect those who believe with all their hearts and conscience that there are no circumstances under which any abortion should ever be available."
bush is just so frickin' radical. i almost can't remember what clinton said in contrast... i have to read it again but for the most part she has just diluted herself to be able to communicate to the 'moral voters'... still, i think in light of bush's comments about changing hearts, i wonder if there's any use talking to the narrow at all. maybe the left should remain forceful? idunno... bush scares me to the point where i can't think. you know, he truly believes (said it several times) that he was 'chosen by God' to lead america? what is it? fanaticism, i say...
I think she is saying that while she respects other people's views on the issue, she wants to agree that every child born should be wanted and the main focus of abortion should be on family planning to limit the number of abortions in the first place keeping it safe and rare, not making the choice illegal.
