"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!"
Everyone in the crowded house was waving their arms and drinks in the air like crazy, as they hollered and cheered drunkenly. A large bottle of champagne was popped open and the bursting foam was coloured with rainbows from the flashing lights attached to the ceiling.
Friends were hugging and toasting, and lovers were exchanging sweet kisses with each other; everyone was stoked that a new year has finally begun. Everyone but Uruha.
Frozen in spot, he watched with sad eyes, a couple not very far from him. The handsome, raven haired man of the pair had his strong arms wrapped around his petite brunette lover, whose own slim arms were locked behind the raven's neck. Their smiles were as bright as their eyes which were filled with unmistakable adoration for one another. The taller tilted his head and swiftly stole a kiss from lovely plush lips.
Uruha felt his heart twinge and his eyes sting a little, the grip around his plastic cup tightened. Although the two lovers were now no longer attached to each other, Uruha had not moved a muscle since, even when the gorgeous raven moved towards him.
Those same strong arms were now thrown around Uruha's slender frame, causing his shoulder-length blonde hair to swish from the slight impact. Uruha, of course, couldn't help but to return the friendly embrace.
"Happy New Year's, Kou!"
A weak smile touched Uruha's lips upon hearing his shortened birth name in Aoi's enthusiastic exclamation over the booming music. The moment was quite brief, however, and soon the raven ran off to celebrate with other partygoers and again with Ruki.
Uruha thanked the Gods for the wild party lights and the blaring pop song; seeing and hearing things properly became a little more difficult over the rowdy partying. It was a perfect cover for Uruha.
Because, as the blonde continued to watch the distant, laughing raven from where he still stood, a lone tear trickled down his pale cheek while he let out a hushed and broken reply,
"Happy New Year's to you too, Yuu.."
A/N: Sooo yeah, had quite a shitty day yesterday and this just came out >.<
