I wish The Fed would stop cutting the rates to "boost the economy". I'm no economist, but these cuts aren't helping me, they're hurting me. Instead of earning the 4+% I was earning on my savings account only a few weeks ago, I'm now down to 3% even. My 401(k) isn't earning shit thanks to the general state of the market and the only consumer loan ( Read more... )

According to a compound interest calculator, if ING doesn't lower their rates again (haha!), I'll earn a whopping $18 on that stimulus package - assuming I just leave the amount in there. If I leave it there through the next two presidencies I'll have earned almost $200.

That's about all it's going to do. We thought about using it to buy a laptop, but fuck these companies. We don't really NEED one, and if we do buy one, we can go back to my original plan of buying one that's sinfully cheap and basic since we'll only use it when we travel which is what, 2 times a year?

P.S. You'd be able to buy about 20 packages of 88-count newborn diapers from drugstore.com with your stimulus package. 40, if you count Craig's in too. Baby Daniel won't have to worry about creating his own little shitstorm, at least. ;)

lol! Craig and I get the married couple stimulus package. We're using it to put towards buying a new shed so that baby Daniel's room does not have to double as a toolshed anymore. It's horrid. Half the room is all baby and cute and classic pooh. Then you look to the right and it's rakes and shovels and tools haha. We're pretty well stocked on diapers because everyone at the baby shower had the bright idea to get us those!
