1 - Depends on the circumstances and people involved.
2 - I'm not sure exactly what you're asking? There are certainly studies on all sides of both issues that have found that abortion cripples women emotionally, that it has no noticeable statistical effect on women's health. I don't know much about adoption studies that have been done but I imagine country-specific studies would provide more context for the situations of the mothers and local laws involved.
3 - My opinion is that the choice that is "better" for the mother is that which she thinks is better for herself. If she thinks an abortion would be emotionally damaging but being a birthmom wouldn't, she should adopt her child out. If she thinks she couldn't give up a child but could have an abortion, she should have an abortion. If she doesn't know what she wants, best of luck to her, but I'm not going to tell her what to do.
I don't know which is worse to the mother - probably depends on her.
I don't have an opinion about which one is "better" for the mother, beyond that I think it depends on the person. I don't support abortion, therefore the only option left out of those two is adoption, for better or worse.
As everyone else said, I think it depends on the mother. Even though adoption is the preferral choice for me, I think as a whole adoption is more traumatic. That being said, I think both good AND bad choices in life can be traumatic......so the trauma involved doesn't factor in for me.
For example, it may be noble to sacrifice your life for others, yet dying to save other people is obviously horribly traumatic. This analogy is not to say that abortion is hands down wrong....I'm just saying the trauma involved is not the only variable that determines which option is better.
it depends on the woman. some women may abort because they KNOW it will be much more traumatic if they choose adoption and others choose adoption because they know that an abortion would hurt them worse.
