ok, so i let my email be available in my userinfo. big mistake. i had to change my availability today coz i just checked my email for the 1st time in a while and i got all these crazy emails from girls telling me i was killing my baby and defying god's will or love, etc. one girl even sent me a fetal development calander to show me what my baby

Sure. Heck, if the mods didn't kick them off they'd be here poking at you too. Since they can't do it here, they follow women to their journals and/or email them directly.

At one point I asked the community if they wanted to go closed like birthmothers, but the majority said no, so. At this point, your best bet is to make your entries friends-only. At least then losers can't link to your entries in communities like prolife and bring down a bunch of loonies into your journal.

If you know the lj=names of these people, please let me know. I run abortioninfo and I like to keep trolls out... I go through the members periodically and ban anyone who appears to be fishing.

personally, i think all posts in this community should be friends-only, and that the mod should have to personally approve every single member. i do that on my community open to a LOT of flaming (veganism), and it stopped that sort of shit. ugh. i'm sorry you had to go through that.

i did too; i remember very clearly. i didn't really care.. i'm a biologist and easily threw that shit back in their face. it was all lies and misrepresentation, and they shut up as soon as they realized i had a brain. also, it solidified my resolve - and i enjoyed telling them i was now doing it solely to piss them off, LOL.

The "use their e-mail addys to sign them to porn sites" was a good suggestion though. Or perhaps even to PP or pro-choice sites, so that they get their info for a change, but that may be nasty for said sites, to have such people in their listings!

well, i deleted all the emails asap outta disgust, tho now i do wish i woulda saved the addies to have em banned, or signed up for porn, heheh. yah, i just have to laugh it off...sigh, i suppose ignorant and selfish self righteous ppl are always the ones to speak the loudest.
personally, i don't think it's bad that this room is so public...i mean, i found it and it's helped me so much, so i sure there are other girls out there in silence that this could still really help.
