Has anyone experienced a change in their periods after an abortion? I used to have 2 or 3 day long periods, but this month (my second period since my abortion) I've been bleeding for about 11 days now. Last month lasted about 6 days. I had a medical abortion, btw. I've not had an abortion, but I've definitely experienced bleeding pattern changes. It happens as you age, and can happen with hormonal changes - like having an abortion, or going on/off hormonal bc.

On abortioninfo we've heard similar questions from many women. Apparently, having an abortion can alter your cycle for a few months. After my medical abortion, I started having some light cramping during periods (I never had any before that). Similarly, my cycle's been different since I gave birth. I think these major upheavals throw your body off a bit. Anyway, I never heard of any harm coming from a longish period, so I wouldn't worry :)
