When I had my abortion, I chose a clinic that was definately not what I had hoped for. The doctor rushed us in there and it was like a firing squad. I had no drugs at all, except 1 valium he told me to take an hour before the procedure. It hurt sooo bad that I was crying and I kept telling hi mthat the valium wasn't working and I could feel everything. All he said was "I'm sure it did what it was supposed to." He also recognized me from the job I was working at and made some comment about getting the recipe of the cookie that he would always buy

I'm glad it went so much more smoothly this time for you. My mom swears by the IUD; hormones don't work for her or me either.
Your health and your family's wellbeing must come first. My father has seen people choose "the will of G-d" over life-saving medicine before and it's so horrible and pointless.
Thank you for telling your story. It is truly inspiring to hear from such a strong, grounded woman (especially in today's retro-scary political environment).
I, too, am a basket case on any type of hormonal contraception. I have had a Paraguard for over 3.5 years and it is the absolute best birth control I have ever used. I hope your experience with it is just as wonderful as mine has been (insertion, though, was excruciating - oh well). Praise be to the IUD!

Good luck with the IUD. I have the Mirena IUD and I love it.
