Things I'd like to say to customers:

No one really cares if you think the costume you're wearing in the play makes you look fat.

Dear, if you whine at home the way you have during this reading I'd cheat on you too.

If you honestly think your cooking is that bad there's a seven letter word I'd like to share with you catererWhy'd you purposely ( Read more... )

Hannah lass,

Why not say it then, luv? Well now, these your regular paying customers then or just one vision stands? Either way, maybe 'tis time for a change from the seer biz.

Right, or just time for a drink with a friend? Come see me then, lass, you know where to find me. Better yet let's have a bit of Holiday cheer elsewhere and we can compare our best customers lass! Should set us both to rights then!

Seamus,

Because I would lose several referals that way. No, these are not my regular customers. There just always seems to be an influx of people coming in around the holiday and gearing up for the New Year. The actual week of New Year's is always full of interesting individuals. This is only the start of the holiday crowd.

And pray tell, what would I do should I choose to leave my shop? I don't have much else I know how to do or have actually honed over the years. And I don't think I'd be too happy doing something requiring much manual labor.

A drink would be wonderful, but not as one of your customers. We should definitely find a place to get together soon.

Did I look fat in my dress photo, Hannah? Tell the truth, I can take it.

Well, you could use a slimming charm to take care of those flabby upper arms.

Just kidding. You looked wonderful my dear.

"Stupid?" There are those that would refer to your profession with just such an adjective. Perhaps you might hesitate, for all our sakes, the next time you entertain the urge to disparage the very individuals that provide you with a livelihood. "No one really cares?" Obviously they do, or they would not have come to you with their insecurities.

Then again, perhaps I misconstrue your intentions. Expressing such contempt for your customers in a public forum no doubt achieved just the sort of humiliation you were intending to elicit. In that case, well done. Further evidence for the cause of professional help in lieu of such consummate quackery as this.

It's called frustration and simply saying things often makes one feel as if a they have conqured a bit of the stress. Sometimes a random rant is well worth the opinions it stirs.

"It's called frustration and simply saying things often makes one feel as if they have conqured a bit of the stress"?? Oh, heavens, the grammatical tremors alone make this all the more painfully ironic. Really, "Conqured"?

Be nice, Deirdre.

Ah, so you blame your regrettable sentiments earlier on frustration and an urge to conquer "stress"? How tragic and convenient; your well-placed external locus of control evidently absolves you of any derision expressed at the idiocy of the souls that gave you their money and vulnerability in exchange for a little peace of mind. Have you considered that your customers are after a release similar to the one you now so indifferently describe?

I could never refer to you a therapist, but these people utilize your services in much the same capacity. To then belittle their insecurities with such callous superiority infuriates me beyond what I can even begin to----to think of the damage this public post could cause! You little----I know I---I may not be a champion in the social niceties ( ... )

It's not as if any of my customers have access to these things. Do you honestly think I'd intentionally degrade those who offer my funds to me in a venue accessible to them.

Just because I don't have Dr. in front of my name doesn't mean I need to be told how to handle things in a professional manner.

In my line of work being unprofessional would be saying these things to the individuals. Or perhaps, revealing who actually asked these things.

Sure! I work Saturday mornings but after that and on most evenings I'm free. Just let me know.

I usaually try to close shop by 7:00 on the weekdays, but that doesn't stop people from trying to come by later. If you'd like to open the reading room up for a few hours of your own that would help me immensely. Feel free to charge whatever you feel is fair for your time.

I'd love to give you a hand. And you don't need to pay me. Consider it a favour for a friend. I'll be round sometime this week then.

Wouldn't be me paying you. I wouldn't dare ask you to read for free. I know for you it's a hobby but I just wouldn't feel right taking money I didn't work for myself.
