After an inexplicable (yet appropriate) two-and-a-half year absence, Harvey Dent finally made his grand return to the mainstream DC Universe in what promises to be one of his highest-profile stories in his 74-year history!
He returns again! How ya doin', man? Been a long damn time. Hope you're well. In case you're interested, I posted my webshow's two-year anniversary episode this month; check it out, if you want:
First off, it sounds like you're a little hazy on this, too, but - who the hell is Duke Thomas? I thought I was more or less up on my recent Batman characters, but I'm pretty sure this is the first I've heard of him.
Yeah, I don't think color-blindness works that way. It's not black-and-white vision; as I understand it, it's a difficulty to make out differences and/or gradations of color - like, yellow and orange look like basically the same thing, green gets mixed up with red, etc. It does make sense for Harvey to have some sort of vision problem in that eye, but what I would give him is some variety of warped, blurry vision. Or hey, better yet - double vision. As someone who had that as a

I'm glad that you have returned as well! I feel like most people have dropped off entirely, so it's good to know that I'm not just posting to a vacuum whenever I do get around to it.
I will be sure to check out that video soon! Congrats on the anniversary! Keep it up!
Duke Thomas appeared in... I want to say, Batman: Endgame? Maybe earlier? And then he headlined his own title in We Are Robin, which was recently ended/canceled in the shakeup with DC Rebirth. Along with Harper Row, he's the biggest Bat-Fam addition from the New 52. Like I said, I need to read up more on him

Thanks! I hope you like it. I actually would appreciate your opinion on it, because I've been meaning for a while to start spreading the word about WEGAF Reviews - talking about the show on Facebook, seeing if I can get someone to post an announcement about it on scans_daily, etc. - and I think the time has finally come when I have the capability to start putting out episodes semi-regularly, so now's the time to do it. Needless to say, though, I want to share a good, polished episode of the show, and as the creator, I only see the rough spots - so what do you think? Is it good enough to share now, or should I wait?
Ohhhh-hh - OK, I do know who he is, then. I wasn't aware he had already progressed in the ranks, though. I mean, good grief - just how many Bat-people do we have at the moment? There's Robin, Nightwing, Red Hood, Red Robin, Spoiler, Cass ('Orphan', I guess she's called now), Batgirl, Batwoman, Batwing (if he's still around), maybe Azrael, I'm not sure, Harper, Clayface, for however long that lasts - and now another guy?

Maybe it's a symptom of me Getting Old, but the general style of a lot of modern comics leaves me cold, good stories or not. Everything looks too detailed, too airbrushed, too... plastic.
But JRJR isn't close to the worst offender in that regard, and what Snyder does here certainly looks interesting enough for me to give ASB II: Electric Boogaloo a chance. I'm still not sold on such a chatty, wisecracky Batman (especially one who walks around with the standard Miller permal-scowl), but it's not a dealbreaker.
All caught up!robopengyJanuary 2 2017, 07:19:43 UTC
After several years of kind of forgetting about LJ, I've finally caught up on all your reviews! And I re-read a few of the old ones too (appropriately ending this binge session at 2:22 am, not on purpose I swear). Going through the reviews was pretty reinvigorating, makes me want to crack open all the Two-Face comics I bought on your recommendation over the years. :D
