Oh, this was lovely and heartbreaking. You've done an amazing job capturing not only Kate's relationship with, but also the quiet sadness of her post-island sense of loss. Really wonderful job.

Thank you so much :) I think post-island must have been so very quietly sad and lonely, so I'm glad that came across.

Heartbreakingly beautiful. Makes you wonder who each is thinking of really when they get together like this: Kate thinking of Jack; Sawyer of Juliet....no wonder Kate feels so lonely when she goes back home, because neither of them are really there, they're still back on the island with the people they lost. Very well done ( ... )

Thanks so much for reading and for such a lovely comment! I'm so glad this worked for you. I definitely think anything post-series has to deal with Sawyer/Juliet and Kate/Jack, so I'm glad that came across...I also think Kate here is thinking about losing Aaron (back to Claire) and that's got to be so very painful, even if it was her intent all along.

Thanks re: the username, as well. One of my favorite things about LOST was always the presence of literature, both explicitly and thematically. When I was thinking of a name for a writing journal, who better than Sawyer to provide it? ;)

I'll have to check our your fic - thanks for the heads up about it! I don't read this friends list as much as I'd like sometimes, so I tend to miss some fic I'd normally like to read.

Guh, the heart wrenching emotions... why do Kate and Sawyer feel so right, when they're written so sad? You've done a great job of capturing the post-island guilt and loss.

Some really lovely turns of phrase here. I loved "she tastes the salt on his face". Excellent imagery through the other senses. And "You're not the only one who lost someone" was a real gut-wrench moment. Your writing is very insightful into these characters.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you so much for reading, and for such a thoughtful comment! Post-island Kate and Sawyer are so difficult, and yet I can't really stay away from them. I'm so glad you felt this fit them.
