I think I am the only person who doesn't think The Onion is funny. The irony goes too far & it just becomes stupid in itself. Like that movie Idiocracy. I get it; overly exaggerated stupidity is supposed to be humorous.

Did you hear about the "The Onion" movie? It came out on DVD last year...wasn't worth the plastic they printed it on.

I did hear about it. Is it supposed to be a mock news broadcast? I didn't even bother looking into it.

The Onion is only good for the headlines really. and the AV Club.

I haven't even actually looked through the AV Club before. Is it a bevy of random articles, or does it have a specific topic?

Holy Crap! I read the av club like every day! Even more when I had a job. Just loads of movie and pop culture reviews. They do interviews with interesting film makers, and do episode by episode reviews of your favorite teevee shows. And all semi-serious, like a real website, not fake news-centric. It is also published in paper at the back of the Onion newspaper.

It does, actually.
I'm just so tired of Stumbling Upon it day after day!

Um, not to be TOO much of a cynic and rain down on your parade, but uh..overly exaggerated stupidity...isn't that what lolcatz are? No?

Touché. However, I think lolcats can be appreciated as thus: The Onion is so over the top ridiculous that it has become ONLY funny to hoity-toity hipsters who don't actually understand irony.

I think.

My main point, I guess, is I hate hipsters.
