On the people knowing thing, I think you're properly overreacting, but if you don't want people to know just say there's nothing going on, it didn't work out.
He does seem really nice, the beach thing is so cute! I would say it sounds like you're seeing him - to me seeing is no commitment meeting up, which is basically what this is. I guess the only thing you have to know is what he wants from it all :/

Also, I know I already knew, but I'm glad things are good with you and Jo again :) I couldn't stand it when they weren't!

Yeah, I think I am a bit. It's just Becca does like to gossip, and I don't want to make a big deal out of it to others 'til I know what's going on.
It just feels weird to think I am actually seeing someone. It doesn't happen. :)
If things go well, I want you to meet him. When you're free and stress free from exams, Ok?!

I am going to see if we meet Wednesday etc, and just go from there. See if I can find out what he wants from it.
