It is a long drawn out process. I have to go back Monday. I will tell you all about it when it is over. We set our own time for lunch this afternoon and we all agreed to take an hour - and that was to be a real hour, not a courthouse hour.

I subbed for a colleague who got the call also. (Did you see a lady named Terri Thomas?) She got dismissed.

I think jury duty would be fascinating in some ways, but I guess it gets long and drawn out. A whole lot of hurry up and wait, and you can't read, write or otherwise entertain yourself during down time. It would get old by day 2.
Hey, look on the bright side, (I promise, I will not break into a Broadway song!), now you can have a new experience for writing scenes! Your fictional Band could get sued or sue somebody, and you have personal experience for describing the trial!

...and not to make it even brighter but...better to experience court this way than if it were you on trial in the Hot Seat!) P.

Funny you should say that about the band - one of the earlier stories had them going to jail.

I did bring a book with me and they supply newspapers in the jury room. There are magazines in the jury commissioner room. That's like the holding area.

I didn't meet Terri Thomas.
