i turned on cnn after i saw this....
just. wow.
and we were just talking about columbine today at school...
i think what really gets me about this case is that there were two separate shootings. two people were shot the first time and at least 30 more people were killed two hours later.
it's just...

it's just insane.
62 people so far have been reported dead or injured, one being the shooter.

62.
and this was one person.

columbine was 13.
and there were two.

that's almost 5 times the amount of people.

wtf.

prior to this, the worst school shooting happened at the university of texas in 1966. 15 people were killed by a sniper, charles whitman.
THIS DEATH COUNT IS DOUBLE THAT AND RISING.

Man, so many things about this piss me off to no end.

The news on TV just said that there's 32 dead so far, one includind the shooter himself. And one of those people dead was a German Professor teaching a class that he went into and starting shooting. One girl who was in the room said that when the police go there, only her and three others where still living/moving. The rest of the class was either dead or injured.

i've been on the virginia tech's network on facebook for the past half hour to an hour reading what they've been saying about the shooting.
the shooter was an asian man with a black jacket and a maroon hat.
that's all they know so far.

there was a link to a video from some news program with a kid who got shot on the phone and he said that the guy unloaded an entire round onto his class and 17 people were shot.

what pisses me off about this is that no one knows that it happened.
i've only seen this mentioned twice so far.

just because people aren't mentioning it doesn't mean people don't know, though i agree it does seem that the information is not travelling as fast as it normally does.
sometimes when tragedy strikes, people lock up into themselves and ignore it, or don't talk about it. perhaps that explains some of it?
