After much prodding and begging by the bride, I am going to post these pictures from a wedding Brandi and I went to back in mid-November.
This wedding was far and away the nicest I have ever been to. The night started with champagne and strawberries as well as desperately searching for anyone that I knew. I finally found Andrea Reo. She lived across the street from me and we always got along great. She was the only person I knew at the wedding aside from the bride and a friend of the bride who I was trying to avoid for...complicated reasons.
After the champagne and strawberries (about 5 flutes each), there was cocktail hour. Open bar, cosmo FOUNTAIN, sushi bar, steak bar, mashed potato bar (served in stylish martini glasses) and that's really just scratching the surface. Brandi, Andrea and I made a bee-line for the cosmo fountain and I took full advantage of the open bar by ordering glasses of Johnnie Walker Black.

Being that this was held at a temple, all the food was kosher which only hurt when it came to the sushi. We both made sizable dents in both the buffet and the open bar. After a while we were then ushered into the hall for the ceremony. This was my first jewish wedding so I did not really know what, exactly, to expect. The hall was decorated rather nicely.

I liked all the hebrew that was used in the ceremony but that's just me being a language nerd. Actually, the only thing I knew about the Jewish ceremony was that silverware was to be shattered by the groom and that did happen although it took a couple of stomps.

The newlyweds heading off
After the ceremony, which really lasted around 20-25 minutes tops, we went to the reception. The bride and groom were conspicuously absent at first and Brandi quipped, "I bet you she brought him into some room for a quickie" and Andrea replied, "Actually, that's Jewish tradition." I looked it up and there is the practice of yichud where the newlyweds are to spend their first time alone together and, in ancient time, he was to make sure she was a virgin. No worries there this time lol
Once we sat down, we noticed all the decorations:

We then noticed that there were plates with food. We thought the buffet was the food. Boy were we mistaken.
The "first" course at the reception
During the entire reception the open bar was still available except now waitresses brought you the drinks for free instead of you going up and waiting at the bar. We must have had 10 cosmos, 6 apple-tinis and 8 glasses of JWB by the end of the night but there was so much food that we weren't getting drunk. All and all it was a lot of fun even if it the night varied from slightly to extremely weird throughout.
More pics!
The first dance at the reception. It would have been a nicer picture were it not for the equipment in the way :-/
