Let the discourse begin! I'll attempt to organize my entries as was suggested by offering some thoughts on the readings followed by reflections on the "exploration" sites

Thanks for being the first to break the "blog ice." I agree that "Soul Food Cafe" is wonderful - I could get lost in there! Glad you liked it.

I agree with you that we all have been discouraged in writting in our books, and even warned that it is not something that anyone should do. A though comes to mind on your statement of purchasing books in grade school, can students at such a young age actually use the textbooks appropriately? Or does it actually take some time to realize the 'proper' way to use these books?

Marking Up My Book

Do you mark up your own books? I use a highlighter. Everybook I read, not just school books, I bring along a highlighter and highlight the sentences I like. I find this is the most useful for when I need quote then it is easy to find. Unless the book is too good and every page has highlighted sentences. Then I have a problem.
