My cat died. Y'know, the one I've had my entire life. I'm very sad of course, that cat was brilliant, but it can't be helped. Life is determined to hurl everything possible at me. Well she did have a thrombosis last year, and it was nearly finished then but she pulled through. Now though ( Read more... )

It's always difficult to lose a pet :( But at least your old cat had a long and good life with you. And I'm sure that when Sherlock adjusts to living with your family, she will be a great pet, too!

It is, but I do console myself with that thought. She had a good life, in cat years, she was a hundred if not more.

I'm sure Sherlock will adjust, and will become a wonderful pet. At least, as soon as she stops pooping on people that is.

That's a long life indeed...

Sherlock will help you cope, I'm sure! If pooping on people will not become her habit XD

Indeed, she was a brilliant cat. I adored her...

Haha, I hope not XD Butbutbut she ate out of my hand today :D She was still a bit mistrusting, kind of glancing up at me like I was the devil but she ate out of my hand in the end. Bought her some treats too, which she likes a lot. (I'm spoiling her but I don't care~)

I've lost a couple of dogs too a while back. Two German Shepherds, they were brilliant. One died of cancer and the other one of old age. It's hard to lose a pet, but well, you can't do anything about it c

She's still very shy, and likes to crawl away, but I think, with time, she'll no longer be that scared. We have to be patient...

Though, she's a ridiculously amazing jumper. She fits in my two hands and manages to jump two metres O_O She jumped from one end of the room to the other.

it's always sad to lose a companion who's been there like forever, i hope you will go through this!

i have a cat and i know how it would be without him, sometimes i'm thinking about it and it makes me wanna cry but at the same time life goes on, so i am enjoying my time with him :)

a cat is like a human, the one you had will never be replaced and never be like another, and i'm sure this one will be good too!

Yes, it's sad, but well, she was old. Nothing we could do.

This one's still very shy, but in time, she'll adapt.

*hugs*

Losing pets is a terrible experience (been there). I know nothing can replace your old cat, but I hope the new one brings you some joy and consolation.

Those Sherlock mental images are brilliant xD

Indeed, and yes, the old one is bringing me joy. I got her to trust me a bit now and she really enjoys being petted (she purrs a lot) and she's also very playful now that she knows me a bit.

She also sticks out her tongue a little while playing, so yes, imagine Sherlock sticking out his tongue while playing with a pink bouncy ball :'D
