Seattle Recap

We got into Seattle late Thursday night. It was too late to really do anything except drop by the nearest Taco Bell that was open late to grab a quick snack for Wilson who had not eaten anything for dinner yet. We arrived at my brother's apartment where we sat around and talked for a couple hours before going to bed ( Read more... )

Hi Abby! Reading your Seattle recap and seeing your pictures makes me miss WA! My Poppa lived there for a year and I fell in love with downtown Seattle during my first visit! I thought the same thing when I visited the first Starbucks, too...the storefront sign has a lot of charm, but the inside was the same ol', same ol'. I *loved* Salty's---had some of the best crab there and you're right about the view: gorgeous!

I know what you mean about the Seattle vibe; I'm not a huge "city person", but there was something very laid-back and inviting about Seattle. How exciting that you're both seriously considering making a move to the city; don't you just love that life is full of adventures and opportunities just waiting to be grabbed?

I think I would be very excited to move to Seattle. For one thing, I'd be closer to my brother whom I actually adore. Also, I grew up in Portland so Seattle actually feels very familiar to me. I've lived in CA for almost 3 years now and still haven't really found my niche quite yet. I don't know if I'll ever be a CA girl. Oh well. We'll just have to see how things pan out for us. My guess is that we won't actively pursue anything for the next 2-3 years.

He got his Masters in Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering. That's right. He's an actual Rocket Scientist.

Seattle is a great city isn't it? Did you know that's actually not the first Starbucks? My friend's dad actually worked in the first one, which was in a far less scenic location and was much smaller. I guess people tend to forget about that one ;-)

I love the shot you got of the market - that's a beauty!

I didn't know that's not the actual first one! I was thinking that they had a great location for their first venture...

You and your brother look alike! :-) Sounds like the weekend was fun. I'm smiling thinking about you taking secret photos at REI. Ha.

And I didn't know there was such a thing as Costco Home! I feel so deprived!!!
