For fine dining, Pacific'O restaurant is the best. Have your concierge make reservations to eat outside near sunset. On the South side, the Spago's is excellent. The ahi tuna tartare is to die for! I'd skip Roy's if you've already been to one.
For cheap eats, there is a small convenience store right before the Ritz Carlton. There is a room at the back of the store that serves cheap Hawaiian eats, like Moco Loco and Beef Stew. It was the only place with genuinely cheap food on that side of the island that we were able to find.
The drive on Hana road is long, so don't spend too much time on detours that are listed in Maui Revealed. We spent almost two hours hiking through a bamboo forest trying to find some waterfalls, only to hike back halfway through. The black sand beach and red sand beach are worth the drive. The red sand beach is a little difficult to get to, and there's a tiny one closer on the path that psychs a lot of people out.
Hi, I saw your post in Drzwife's journal and popped over. I would love to friend you. I actually have lived in Thailand in the past so if I could help in any way with that trip just let me know.
Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I just added you as a friend. I would absolutely love your help in planning for our Thailand trip. I'm already bursting with questions to ask you. I just hope you don't regret friending me! :)
