I have never seen a Lucia who got her hair burned off, but when my aunt Karen was a teenager, my mom (I think...I'm not sure which of the 3 sisters was which) had a canopy over her bed, and Karen's candles kind of caught the canopy on fire...I've been doing Lucia for my whole life, but I have fake candles. :-/
