This was a really satisfying read. It's been a while since I read arashi fic, and this is better then I hoped for. I feel like your writing has matured, somehow.

There's such a great attention to details that only a dedicated fan would notice, and it's not overdone and exaggerated the way these little things are so often done in fic. The details are wonderfully subtle. I think this is one of the best done Matsumiya I read. So often it's snarky and sarcastic; I think fandom overlooks how sensitive and attentive Jun and Nino can both be. I've been waiting for someone to show that in their writing <3

Their interaction and characterization were so refreshingly real. It was also interesting to read a fic that was serious, but not angsty.

I'd agree with nogah. Matsumiya's often too snarky for my liking. I like snark, but it's a bit boring if there's no layers to it. They're snarky people, but under all that snark, are two sensitive, caring souls. Snark's a mask to hide their vulnerabilities and I think you've brought that out really well. I also love how they both overanalyse every single thing to death, and how you brought that out by showing how they notice that the other doesn't ask them to stay.

"Why does everyone think I'm some sort of walking sexual assault?" he said. "I never molest when it isn't appreciated."

This is, hands down, my favourite line <3 It's so telling of Nino, and exactly how I think Nino's like, except I've never been quite able to put it into words, and you just did.

Everyone else has said most of the thoughtful, lovely things that I felt while reading this. You did a great job of handling them as mature people with their proper levels of snappishness and respect. It was a lovely story, and great to see something new from you after a long break.

I really don't know how I missed this during Hols. Maybe it's because most Matsumiya is written well, wrong, and therefore unless I know who's writing it I try to stay clear until someone gives me a push toward it.

But you, my love, do indeed know how to write Matsumiya as the big pile of squish and love they truly are. I love how they take care of each other and still get their little lovey snips in and end up all squished and happy and jaklfjdla

Man I love good matsumiya and this was FANTASTIC matsumiya.
