I recently noticed how staged and rehearsed everything is.

Man do I hate that. Because it's like, people recite things that they were taught in order to manipulate the situation. Like sales reps do to sell. Or police do to make the suspect talk. Or how some therapists do to get people to open up. Whether it's used to help people or persuade them, ( Read more... )

While I agree with you for the most part it is also true that tried and true methods are always the best first option. Experimentation or secondhand methods are usually saved for when the traditional method has already been tried.

When faced with the unfamiliar we attack it with our experience and when our experience fails we improvise.

True, but isn't life really supposed to be one big improvisation. I mean really, how fake are we nowadays that the majority of the conversations we have in our lives are fake? That we have to weed those who are genuine and those who are not.

When all you know is a script how can you know how to react to something improvised.
