i understand that she has a voice that's easy to understand and that she sings very, very slowly, but if i have to sing another Carpenters song in class, so help me god, i may smash the CD the teachers all seem to have. can't we do the Beatles or something??

yeah, i'm thinking like Norwegian Wood, or Something, or even Yesterday would be better at this point.

We did The Beatles "Hello Goodbye" at my school and it was perfect...I mean, we're talking first year Junior High and they could understand most of it at least ("You say yes, I say no...Stop/Go," etc, it's cake)...I recommend it. I wouldn't recommend Norwegian Wood or Yesterday...even though they may be popular, the words are really difficult. Maybe "I wanna Hold your Hand" or "Love Me Do" ...gotta go with the simple pop.

See, what's annoying to me is that they choose these Carpenters songs that the kids DEFINITELY can't understand. We did "Yesterday Once More" and "Top of the World" in the last two weeks, and these songs are clearly incomprehensible. Norwegian Wood really is simple if only by comparison.
