The Fire Within

Ok, that is a Castaneda reference, and what I write below refers to another school of mysticism. But the most important thing I have discovered about the world (both physical and metaphysical) is that parallels can be drawn between the most disparate things, anywhere, anytime, anywhY. :) The equation remains the same, through all its permutations. thank you for sharing another too-rare but wonderful post, and yes, you too are missed.

when last we met as you may recall was not a happy occasion, and much has changed for me, as well. perhaps next time our paths cross we can share some memories and stories and catch one another up on our respective lives.

until then...be well, my absent (absinthe?) friend. :)

Very much looking forward to a catch-up session. Not yet sure of the where/when of it, but it's on my short list. *hugs*

Okay, if parties are not do-able, how about a small gathering of geeks? There's one next Sunday evening at our place, 5PM - 10PM, bring your own dinner.

It depends on how J and I are both feeling, but we plan to attend unless crappy-feeling-ness prevents. :)

Perhaps (and in fact probably) you mean something entirely different, but many of your words could very easily apply to my own situation. Involvement with that community seems to me a noble goal, but there are many nontrivial tasks mounted before me which must be subdued before that would make sense. Hopefully that day will come, but I don't see it coming soon. Regardless of whether you feel ready or not, It would still be good to see you again. Our lives are defined not only by the raging infernos, but also (and perhaps moreso) by the soggy ashes wishing to smoulder in the expanse between the blazings.

Wise and meaningful words, as is your tendency. And although it's not always the forefront thought-process, I have not overlooked the gains I have made during this "long dark tea-time of the soul." :)
I look forward to talking at length with you again. Doing so has never failed to reward me richly.
