i think you need to ask yourself what's really more important to you. it seems from everything you've stated, you already know - painting is way more important to you than being in a band, and probably most anything else, too. so, i think that your answer is right before you: painting.
also, i know that it's hard to believe in yourself sometimes, but you need to believe that you are talented and that you have important things to express though your work. and you are, and you do. but no one else can really tell you that.
also, i think that those guys could handle finding a replacement. or, you could tell them you want to do that show and that's all - or you could hold on a bit, do the show and reassess how you feel. that may not be the most honest to them, but it's the most honest to you... i'd probably do that, but i'm not sure it's kosher. maybe ashod knows more on that.
i miss you and i wish i could give you a big hug right now. follow your heart.

Yeah . . . boonies fer sure. Awwwe . . . these comments from You, "Laviechaude" and good ol' "Milemedeaf" remind me of what it's like to have true friends, too bad they are so far away. Wifey and I can hold up one hand between the two of us and count our REAL Los Angeles based friends on those five fingers.
