Oh wow... this is the first I've heard - this is huge. His is/was the go-to site for everything bike-related - a lot of people I know respected his knowledge. Alas.

Hopefully he's pedaling happily through the afterlife...

hey, for other readers of this, b pointed out to me that i share a birthday with sheldon! and woody guthrie too, actually. but anyway, b's idea is that for my next birthday, we do a memorial ride. i'm stoked.
