But in this case, about half of the sounds promptly became crazy, glitched-out washes of static and randomly changing pitches. I tried repeated blows; some made it worse, some made it better again.
With my thesis due shortly, this was...problematic. You can't really write a harp part if it sounds like Hrvatski is your harpist.
Fortunately, I opened 'er up, wiggled and reseated some of the cards, and presto, back in business. Turned out the orchestral ROM block had come a fraction loose.
Then again, none of this really violates your basic thesis: if it really isn't working, and you can't afford to get it fixed, give it a whack! An approach that, in truth, works great with my old cheap phone, whenever it decides that the ( ... )
