Don't Eat Bambi

After seeing the trailer for the new Disney movie where the father fish is looking for his son, I wondered how many vegetarians are that way because of Disney. They show animals as having feelings and family, and then of course there's Bambi. People get attached. That's why we think it's sick to eat cats and dogs, but cows and chickens are okay ( Read more... )

I like your new journal format.

It's also because they electrocute animals as the way of killing them so it is not like they are getting a painful death. There are much worse ways to kill. That way people don't feel bad when they eat their meat.

I'm a carnivore. I hate vegetables, but I like fruit. I only eat cow, chicken, and a little bit of pork. Otherwise, no go. I'm not big on hunting because people like to illegally kill things like baby deer for their meat and such.

I also want to put animal abusers through the ringer. I eat them, but I don't kick puppies, for goodness sakes!

Also just wanted to say the next time I see my dad eating deer, I'm going to say "Don't eat bambi!" Hahaha

Yeah, people will do anything illegal to make a buck or get an extra piece of food. We hardly have any crabs any more in Maryland, because people will catch the females (not illegal but not good) and crabs smaller than the minimum required by law.

I hadn't thought of crabbing before, but I do that, and boiling them alive is probably one of the most painful ways to go.

i think you may have something there with the disney thing
why on earth is it that it's okay to eat a cow or pig but not a deer or horse? i mean a horse, yes. i suppose they're companions. but a deer? how strange it is.

meat substitutes are usually fine if you go heavy on the sauce. or just eat fruit. i'd love to be a fruitarian for a bit. mmm.

& i think whatever you do is fine as long as there's no hypocracy. although we're all guilty of that somewhere, i'm sure.

And horses are suppose to taste bad, so that's probably another factor to it.

Yeah, not eating deer is strange. Monkeys too. A lot of people won't eat them because they think they're too close to humans. But anyway the deer in question he hit with his car as it darted in front of him. At least by eating it, he's not wasting it, I guess.

Oh and sauces! I swear every other thing I eat comes with sauce(s).
