Despite your gross and clearly confrontational generalization, Mr. von Karma, it is it is true that many individuals--detectives, prosecutors and other 'rookies' alike--are all overeager to begin with. Perhaps even you, though I am not so bold as to assume I could possibly be aware of how you behaved over four decades ago.
If you believe that the story is about one being overeager, detective, your brilliant display of inductive reasoning has done nothing more than prove my point. Perhaps you should be less eager in your quips, in the future.
It is better to learn for oneself, if one is curious. Regardless, the moral of the story is not in what comes after the ending, but in the ending itself.
Quite. Yours is a forgettable face, but your particular diction is rather unforgettable. I am relieved to say that your writing is considerably better than your speech.
