As usual, these shows may not have been award winning or the best quality, but they are the shows I enjoyed the most or found most entertaining.
Oh, and
here is my list of all of the books read, music heard, and movies and tv watched in 2014.
10) Continuum: Still really enjoying all the time travel conspiracy stuff, and the third season ended in such a way that I need to watch next season! The last few episodes, imo, were pretty riveting.
9) Sleepy Hollow: I love the characters on this show (with some exceptions), but the storylines in S2 became more convoluted and I enjoyed the season less. Also, there was way too much Crane family drama. I want the old dynamic from S1 back. The reason this is even on the list is because the last few episodes of S1 were very strong and they aired early in 2014. Also, the Mills sisters rule all.
8) Game of Thrones: Man, there were some comeuppances this season that were pretty damn satisfying. I also really got into Sansa's story more. She's becoming a favorite character of mine. As always, the acting is amazing, and the settings are so beautiful.
7) Republic of Doyle: The show ended this past season, sad! I'm going to miss this show so much. But I did love how it ended. You did good, show.
6) The Flash: The only brand new show on here. It's quite enjoyable! I really like the characters. Barry and Joe's father-son relationship is my favorite thing. Also, great special effects and the crossover event with Arrow was everything.
5) Orphan Black: S2 was not as good as the first, but it was still great. Tatiana Maslany continues to be a revelation. I did enjoy a lot of the guest stars in S2. Also, Dance Party!
4) Pretty Little Liars: 4B and 5A aired in 2014, and I enjoyed both. I think some of the stuff in 5A has been really good. I feel like some new life was breathed into the show because of it. Also, I really loved Hanna's identity crisis storyline. I like the character growth that continues on this show.
3) Arrow: I binged watched everything that has aired so far, but it's the second half of S2 and the beginning of S3 that aired in 2014, so I will focus on those things. I just have one word for this: Ow. Seriously. My emotions while I watched! There's a thing they got really wrong in S3 that still upsets me, but overall, this is a good show. Like with The Flash, the crossover event? Excellent.
2) Homeland: This show basically gets the Great Comeback Award from me. Both S2 and 3 has been less than stellar, imo. But S4? Damn, that was some really great tv. I haven't felt so tense while watching tv in a very long time.
1) Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: The last half of S1 was just...wow. All the HYDRA stuff was a welcome addition to this show. S2 has just continued on with the that intensity. And I have to mention the May vs. May fight. And everything that went on in the 2A finale. Ugh! Oh, and everything with Fitz just hurts! I don't think this show even made my list last year. Now it's my number one show!
Honorable Mentions: The Carrie Diaries, Community, The Fosters, Haven, How To Get Away With Murder, Suits, Teen Wolf
Like usual, these are the films I saw in 2014, even if they weren't released in that year. In fact, only four are actually from 2014. Also, I'm not going to give any an explanation, as I still have to rank the Oscar nominated films.
10) Dallas Buyers Club
9) Pacific Rim
8) Captain Phillips
7) Frozen
6) Philomena
5) X-Men: Days of Future Past
4) Veronica Mars
3) Gravity
2) Captain America: The Winter Soldier
1) Guardians of the Galaxy
