I am (99%) taking this semester off to volunteer in Africa. I have all of the program information, my parents' approval and Noah's encouragement; I have a doctor's slip for the proper vaccinations; I have a restless heart and a deep curiosity for what lies beyond my often drunk, increasingly sad, ever materialistic bubble ( Read more... )

Grace, I am so jealous. I myself debated on going to Africa for a semester. If you have the opportunity, you should totally take advantage of it. CSU will still be around when you get back.

every college student/friend i have ever talked to has never regretted taking a semester off. my ex, kevin, became AJ Jacob's protégé and wrote for ESQUIRE and conquered new york city all in one semester (and a summer). i am so excited for you to travel africa.
and then i'll be in madrid next spring and you will have to come visit me.
