Wow, that's a ridiculously good success rate! And I can tell you that as an "expert" in the job market, of course. We are supposed to expect that only 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 of the resumes that we send to a hiring manager (after prescreening them, of course) will result in an interview. So Ryan's doing WAY better than normal! And hell, I applied to over 40 positions with only 5 interviews. That's just barely better than 1 in 10. But, of course, I'm assuming that he didn't apply to more than 40 firms. Who knows.
Oh yeah, and good job Nicole for supporting him (as much as humanly possible, of course) through the glories and stressors of job hunts. And of course glories is not a positive thing. But you know me, so that wasn't necessary. Anyway!
So did he wind up using any of my little closing paragraph thing?
no, he wound up being boring and predictable. But he did have good snippets about why he wanted to work for certain firms... I wasn't about to make the opening and closing into any kind of big deal though since he was nervous enough already and didn't want to listen to me. First two interviews tomorrow!
