But what happens when somebody tries to vote twice?

Because there are people who will scream, and stomp, and full out torture you and martyr themselves all while lieng to your face.

I think you tend to overestimate the goodness in people, having never worked in retail.

1 - Punch card system, computer reader.
2 - Said computer prints out a fortune cookie sized fortune with your votes on it.
3 - Insert that into secondary computer.
4 - That gives you a second result, both with barcodes. Data matrix.
5 - Tally the votes between the two machines, if different, haul in 3rd machine to read data matrix.

Or just have somone with a ticker.
