Is it just me or are fanfic writers' journals starting to drop like flies? I just found out
regeneration 's and
siubhlach 's journals are gone and now
enoughoflove stories! Darn it:( I don't want to sound like I suffer from any kind of reader entitlement, all fan stories are such amazing gifts that I have had the privilege to be able to read for free. I just wish there was some

I think siubhlach is the writer a flisty of mine was talking about a while ago, she should have a ommunity with her fics too, that might be still open. Is she the writer that wrote the evil!Sam/hooker!Dean fic (no wait, it was RPS maybe?)? I've not read it, but I think it's her.

Great to have found regeneration 's stories again, but that just prove my point that even if the author only change their journal name, there is usually a lot of confusion from the not regularly readers. If there were a place that all people knew about where people could post announcements like this, it would save so much time.

It's the whole fic Rules of Engagement, she's no longer online anywhere though, so snatch that away asap if you had not saved it before :)

I know...well, it's actually easy to discover them again if they have changed name, but if they leave completely I guess there's nothing to do :/

I have this habit - when I find something interesting to read, I usually don't save it like a bookmark, I save it like a *.doc file, with the link to post in it, and after "time" I read it. So, recently I read a few stories, about which I heard a lot, like, Rules of Engagement last years BigBang, and I liked the art), and when I actually read it and wanted to comment, woiala - user's journal has been deleted. Same goes with a few others. WTH? Is it, like, BANG and suddenly you realize that it's actually wrong - writing porn? Gay porn? Something else?..
From those users you mentioned I knew only regeneration, and, to tell you the truth, I'm pretty surprised oO
And I'm absolutely with you in this idea of the coom. If you leave, and leave for good, let everyone know about it, especially if you had\have friends over here and people who like your work.

I've just be noticing so many broken links and deleted journals lately and of cause spnstoryfinders can help you out a lot if you're looking for a deleted fic, but it really would be great if there was a place you could check in on to see who was moving to a new journal, or locking their stories up or leaving for good, just to give people/fandom a little head start. I usually only find out these things way, way to late.

But I'm definitely agree with you about the "notifying" thing ;)
