I ran across a very interesting statement and I am interested as to its validity. The statement people who have been abused as children (sexually and/or physically) almost always test as N's. This is by no means saying that being N is a result of being abused and that all Ns have, but rather a higher likelyhood of developing the N function in those ( Read more... )

it holds true for me, and for quite a few people i know, but i do know several S people who have been abused, and some Ns who had idyllic childhoods.

An intriguing statement. What would be interesting is to get more of the information so we don't inadvertently contribute to yet another "urban legend."

hi I'm an INFP as well and your statement holds true to me, however... I know quite a few S types with abusive pasts as well.

I am also INFP and I have also been abused. However, my mother is ESFP and was very badly abused...sooooo

At any rate, nice to meet another INFP who is an Enneagram 5w4. Do you have a very strong intuitive preference? My T function is also stronger than most INFPs.

My N and my I, I scored toward that preference on nearly all of the questions. For some reason my mail is a pain and smashes letters together when I reply so sorry if that happens. I also have a strong T and J...lol...my preferences for F and P were very slight.Thank you for responding. :)

I usually score as low moderate introversion, but when I'm feeling crappy that goes up considerably. As for my intuitive preference, it's pure...I don't seem to have any sensing preference at all.

I'm definitely a P, though that can vary from low moderate to slight. But I definitely prefer the open ended to the definite, and I have a terrible time being organized. When dealing with my family I'm probably a very strong P, since I hate being cornered or locked into anything...I feel suffocated very easily. That's not necessarily the case in other circumstances though.
