Title: Objectified
Rating: PG
Genre: Fluff
Pairing: Yonghwa/Seohyun

It’s not like Yonghwa does not try. He does. But sometimes it seems like he is the only one trying.

Seohyun is what most people like to call a wooden block. It does not dent when it gets hit, neither does it feel pain-nor anything at all. In fact, if one tries to hit a wooden block, the only one who feels pain is the person hitting it.

And that is how Yonghwa feels when he hits Seohyun the wooden block.

Seohyun does not understand that maybe, she needs to show Yonghwa some skinship fro time to time. It’s not like she does not reciprocate his feelings, but she feels that perhaps he does not reciprocate hers.

So Yonghwa is like a blank sheet of paper. He bends wherever you want him too because he is accommodating like that. But because he is a blank sheet of paper one can write on him and fill him up with whatever one wants, but he will never be able to write back.

And finally one day, the members of SNSD and CN Blue decide that something has got to give-without the prying eyes of fans and WGM cameras.

Hyoyeon hooks her arms into Seohyun’s like she does on any other day after a MusicBank performance and brings her into their dressing room where she dictates Seohyun wait while she goes grab them something to eat.

Seohyun plops herself on the large tacky orange-colored couch and picks up her latest book “How to understand the you in you” and reads through feverishly, her eyes scanning the pages like a laser printer.

It happens to be the day before Yonghwa’s birthday-well, more like five minutes to Yonghwa’s birthday and as he expects, his members have planned an epic surprise for him. Jungshin blindfolds his oldest hyung and Minhyuk clears the path through the corridors of Music Bank wile Jonghyun obliges himself to add a few comments here and there like “hyung if you open your eyes, I’ll kill you”, in his patent Busan accent, that Yonghwa can’t help but laugh.

When Jungshin shoves Yonghwa into a room, he leaves him with a single line of instructions, “don't you dare lift the blindfold until the door is shut.” And immediately slams the door behind, leaving Yonghwa seemingly alone where he is.

And when he remove the blindfold, he sees a blurry image of a girl at the opposite end of the room looking as clueless as he is back at him. And the first thought that hits him is “gawd, did they hire me a stripper?”

Then he realizes that it is his ‘wife’ Seo Joohyun.

He manages a “Hey,” holding up two fingers coolly like he usually does, but finding this particular situation extremely awkward for no apparent reason at all.

“Yo-ong oppa!” she calls out and heads over to where he is, while he fiddles with the stubborn doorknob which refuses to open up for him.

And as he does so, he feels her beside him. “What’s up?”

“Erm, the door is locked-they locked me in here and I don’t know why! It wasn’t my idea!” he immediately defends himself to Seohyun, then realizes that she would nt get the wrong idea anyway because she is Seohyun.

“Hmm?” She asks eyes bright with curiosity-the very eyes that Yonghwa fell for the moment they met.

“Oh-erm, well, it’s oppa’s birthday! In a bit…” he says in an attempt to divert the conversation.

“I know. I was planning to head over later but since you’re here, Happy Birthday!!! Besides, we’re seeing each other in a few days to film We Just Married anyway.”

The conversation is not awkward. It’s normal, but Yonghwa knows that their only ticket out of the room is for one of them to admit it. And Seohyun wouldn’t be that someone.

“Hyun, I need to talk to you.” Yonghwa hesitates for a while, then grabs her hands in his and pulls her over to the couch.

When they finally sit down, Yonghwa forces himself to leave paper-hood to become a pencil.

“Firstly, we’re locked in here because I think, that our members want us to well… handle something between ourselves.”

Seohyun’s eyes become brighter and more questioning, and Yonghwa feels himself melting into a greater mess than before, losing his tongue at the critical moment.

“Yo-ong, I don’t quite understand…”

“About us, outside of WGM and…” Yonghwa realizes he has not let go of Seohyun’s hands and feels the cool of her skin, caused by cold air conditioning being warmed by his larger hands.

He wishes she would get it but she does not, and he does not blame her. That’s her charm.

“That I’m your first-do you like-What I’m trying to say is-”

And her gaze deepens. She tilts her head questioningly still being the wooden block that she is.

She gets distracted from the flustered Yonghwa by the beep of a small watch that lay somewhere in the room and smiles, “hey, Happy Birthday.”

She naturally pulls out a small hand and lifts it to stroke his cheek affectionately. And he knows that this is it.

He moves toward Seohyun and touches his lips to hers catching her breath in his.

Yonghwa smiles against her lips.
“I love you.”
