You deserve your day. I'm glad you're going to get to spend time with both sides of the family. While turkey and presents are nice, they are just window dressing on the real meaning of christmas. er, and birthday.
It's two great reasons to get together rolled into one day!
Now, champagne and/or other forms of alchohol, that's a necessity!

Youre right about the champagne, it is a necessity! This is the part I am looking forwards to the most.

You have a christmas birthday too.. do you manage to squeeze some party time in?

Saturday night we're going to see a Celtic music performance at a very cool old theatre. I have no idea if anyone but G and I are going, but regardless it'll be fun.

I'm glad you are feeling better about the whole thing now. That is what Christmas is about to me too, especially in recent years. My family and I will probably not exchange expensive gifts, but it will be good to see them all together. Christmas with the Tanners does focus alot more on gifts, but they are working on that too, because it was too much stress. The thing I like about Christmas is that it is the one time of year most people make an effort to do something positive, help each other, and appreciate what we've got. It's also the darkest time of year so having lights and decorations etc make it easier to get through the winter. I plan to eat, drink and be merry, and have lots of fun with you!

I think all of the best Christmas memories I have is not celebrating Christmas, per se, but YOUR birthday.

A few highlights include the 2 ounce pot of mushroom atea, and playing the piano while everyone sang cannabis carols.

I love your birthday!
