We had our cat Pickle spayed early last year, and ever since the operation, she hasn't been acting right. Every few mothns she would relapse into heat, which shouldn't happen with a fixed animal. Wow, that's a hell of a vet bill! We paid about that much for Bailey, and he's a healthy dog. If it makes you feel better, it takes about 3 vetrinary technicians and the vet himself to restrain and muzzle Bailey just for a simple checkup. It's kind of funny...they take him to a back room (apparently dogs react better when their "parents" aren't in sight), and I can hear them yelling "he's a GOOD BOY!!! Really, he's a GOOD BOY!!" as they struggle to muzzle him.

Oh well, I guess we'll have to spring for obedience classes on top of the vet bills as well.
