I'm kind of stuck in a religious crisis of my own. That said, I think in one way Descartes was right that "God is dead." Our traditional religions don't seem to be serving a productive function, what with the advancement of science and call for proofs. However, I think most people feel the need to use something or someone as a reference point, some sense of a higher power. Lately, it seems to be those who have great wealth and power. Even athletes (not that I consider golf much of a sport ha) do things that seem beyond most of our abilities. I guess I'm describing need for a higher power. The recent movie, "The Invention of Lying" really got me thinking about this subject ( ... )
