I decided not to say anything about this until I found out for sure because I didn't want to jinx anything but it was just confirmed that i will now be working 4 - 10 hour days per week rather than 5 - 8 hour days! I will have Fridays off so that means a 3 day weekend every week unless one of the other 2 ladies that I am on this schedule with are ( Read more... )

:) Phew! Glad I'm not alone in the geekiness.

School just seems more exciting now that I'm older. A few years ago I was dreading school and I wasn't really there to LEARN as much as I was there to try to get a college degree and get out of there.

Yeah exactly. It's hard to be so young and be expected to know exactly what you want to do for the rest of your life and actually want to learn. I guess in some ways I'm glad I waited a few years to go back to school.

Wow, you're so lucky! That schedule rocks! I wish I could do that with mind (can't though, gotta cover the circ desk a lot).
School sounds fun! I've been wanting to take a nutrition class for a while. There's a free (not really college, but more like life style) nutrition class at the gym at my work. Maybe I'll check it out...

yeah I can't wait to have 3 days off! It will be so nice to have an extra night every week to stay up late and sleep late if I want to. Another good thing is that I can go away for a mini- weekend vacation and not have to use any of my vaca hours at work!

I hope the nutrition class will be interesting. I'm kind of worried it will be just the basic food pyramid stuff that everyone already knows.

yay! you have your classes and your financial aid all set! :)

That must feel really good -

I took my placement test today, and I'm calling tomorrow to schedule an appointment with my advisor. Now... if only I can figure out how to get a copy of my tax statement so I can do financial aid...

So what do you want to be when you grow up? ;)

(you know... when you're done with school and stuff...)

Yeah I'm all set! Woohoo! well...actually I'm still not quite sure about the financial aid - I was approved for the loans & everything but I don't know what happens now. Guess I will just wait until the college sends me a letter or something. It's weird being enrolled online - it's like they don't inform me of stuff the way they would a student going to the school in person.

All of this school stuff is kind of exciting huh? I'm glad you are going through this all too. We can share the woes of doing homework at our old age ;)

I'm still not quite sure what I want to be when I grow up (more). I just know that I would like to be my own boss. I don't really aspire to own some mega huge company - though if I did I guess that would be ok too, but owning a little shop or something like that would be nice. Or maybe I would get into writing. Like some sort of freelance stuff. Hmm...so many options. I might just never be able to decide. What about you??

Well, when I grow up, I want to what I've wanted to do since I was in about 10th grade- and that's to be an English teacher ( ... )
